DESCRIPTION:IN POPULAR DEMAND!\nDudley is believed to be the most haunted castle in England. One of the supernatural presences that has usually been sighted is the Grey Lady, who is believed to be the spirit of Dorothy Beaumont, a woman who died in the Castle, along with her baby shortly after childbirth. Above the undercroft is situated the Castle Chapel, which dates from the Fourteenth Century, and is fronted by a large window which looks out onto the courtyard. It is within this window that the figure of a monk has reputedly been seen. A number of zoo visitors have reported seeing 2 young girls playing on the grass opposite the cottages, the same cottages that were burnt down in the 1700’s which the 2 little girls lost their lives. The most haunted location in the castle is thought to be the chapel undercroft. In an Ancient Room, a stone coffin is believed to have once held the body of one of the most castle’s most feared Lords, John Somery.
