SUMMARY:Mill Street Barracks
DESCRIPTION:Mill Street Barracks – St Helens’ Most Haunted Military Landmark.\nLocated in the heart of St Helens, Mill Street Barracks is a site steeped in military history and eerie legend. Built in the mid-1800s, the barracks served as a base for the 2nd Volunteer South Lancashire Regiment and played a vital role in both World Wars — not only housing troops but also acting as a hospital for the wounded and, more grimly, as a temporary morgue.\nIts strong ties to the local church and nunnery further deepen the historical resonance of this imposing structure. Today, while the barracks continues to serve the community as the home of the Sea Cadets, it has also become known for something far more chilling — its paranormal activity.\nOver the years, countless visitors have reported ghostly sightings and unexplained phenomena. A male spirit is frequently seen roaming the upper levels of the building, and is said to be particularly drawn to female guests. Throughout the dimly lit halls, the laughter and screams of unseen children can often be heard — playful, mischievous, and all too real for those who’ve encountered them. These young spirits are known for their interactive nature, seemingly enjoying the attention of the living.\nWith such a dark and emotional history, it’s no surprise that Mill Street Barracks has become a hotspot for paranormal investigators and thrill-seekers alike. From cold spots and phantom footsteps to full apparitions, this location offers some of the most intense supernatural experiences reported in the region.\nThis is not an event for the faint-hearted. Whether you’re a seasoned ghost hunter or a curious newcomer, prepare yourself — Mill Street Barracks does not disappoint.\nLight refreshments will be provided complimentary. Hot & cold drinks, cakes, biscuits & crisps.\nPlease note: tickets are NON refundable or transferable once purchased.\nStrictly NO alcohol or drugs to be consumed on the property or before the event. If a member of the team think someone may be intoxicated you will be refused entry and will not be refunded. This is for the safety of our guests and staff.\nHealth & Safety ‼️\nSome vigil areas for this venue will not to be suitable for wheelchair users. The ground floor will hold a couple of areas to investigate however, there are stairs to get up to the second floor and down into the cellar. The cellar is dark and damp so please be mindful when going down, stay with your team leader and use your torch. There will be parts of the evening you won’t be able to sit down, please keep this in mind if you are uneasy on your feet for long periods of time.\nThe building will be dimly lit and some parts of the evening you will be walking around in the dark. A torch is essential.\nAre you brave enough to survive the night with The Wright Paranormal?\nBook this event now.\n
