Shoal Hill Common Ghost Walk
👻 THE SHADOWS OF SHOAL HILL 👻
Interactive Ghost Walk, Cannock Chase
Presented by The Wright Paranormal Events
🌑 BENEATH THE EARTH, MEN LOST THEIR LIVES. ABOVE THE GROUND, THEIR STORIES LIVE ON…
Deep within the history of the Cannock Chase coalfield lie tales of tragedy, bravery and unexplained encounters.
On 14 May 1937, four men lost their lives at nearby Littleton Colliery.
W. J. Harris, James Mulcahy and W. L. Clarke were overcome by dangerous gas underground. Richard Walmsley, the underground manager, died during the desperate rescue efforts.
Two courageous brothers, Samuel and David Booker, repeatedly entered the dangerous workings to save others.
⛏️ THE CHILDREN OF THE MINES
In 1903, just 16 years old, Henry Tudor lost his life in an accident involving coal tubs and a pit horse.
Ten years later, 14-year-old William Whitehouse was fatally injured by moving coal tubs.
Young lives lost beneath the ground. Families changed forever.
👣 THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE UNKNOWN
In 1995, at the former West Cannock No. 5 Mine in nearby Hednesford, a witness reported hearing heavy footsteps climbing a metal staircase.
When they went to investigate, nobody was there. The staircase was empty, and its lower door was locked.
Decades earlier, six miners had died in a devastating explosion at that colliery.
Was the experience simply unexplained, or something more?
