Shrewsbury Prison
Even after it was decommissioned in 2013, Shrewsbury Prison is still considered as one of the darkest and most haunted places in the world. This prison had been a place of execution. The last public hanging happened in 1863. The last man executed was Edward Cooper, a 30-year-old murderer at Baschurch. Shrewsbury Prison also housed notable and famous inmates. Robert Welch, one great train robber, spent some time in one of the prison cells. Another inmate was “Doctor Death” Sidney Noble. It is said that you can still hear the screams and chants from the inmates to this day. Unexplained whistles and footsteps. Uneasy feelings and a dark, evil atmosphere. Do you dare to sleep in one of the inmates cells?
