📜 A Legacy That Spans Centuries
* Domesday Beginnings (c. 1086):
The site of Bishton Hall has been occupied since at least the time of the Domesday Book, marking it as a location of historical importance for almost a millennium.
* 18th Century Transformation:
The current Grade II listed building was constructed in the mid-1700s, showcasing Georgian elegance and grandeur.
* John Sparrow (1776):
The estate was purchased by John Sparrow, a respected lawyer and magistrate. His tenure marked a period of prestige and expansion.
* Charlotte Sparrow’s Vision:
After John’s passing, his daughter Charlotte Sparrow inherited the hall. With an eye for design and legacy, she added the distinctive east and west wings, shaping Bishton Hall into the architectural gem we see today.
🏫 A School with Secrets (1954–2018)
In 1954, Bishton Hall entered a new chapter as the home of St Bede’s School, an independent boarding institution. For over six decades, students roamed its halls many reporting unexplained experiences and eerie tales passed down through generations.
